I recently took a long weekend with my family to go camping. It was a wonderful weekend of family, friends and fun. I woke up on Monday morning, packed up, and went for a nice little walk in the beautiful surroundings while my kids went and played at the park one last time. And I had a moment of clarity that was beautiful. Look - I know it happens, but it really pissed me off. My boss denied my PTO. I was suppose to go out for a extended weekend with my wife's cousin for his bachelor party. A conference came up that my boss was me onsite for, which requires Sunday travel for an 8a Monday morning attendance, so he denied my PTO. I am not that close with my wife's cousin, and saving the $600 bucks for the weekend isn't all that bad - but to think that someone has that sort of control over me really pisses me off.
